CEDA 2026 in Düsseldorf promises to be a key event for clinicians and researchers in the field of diabetology. With a high-level scientific program, dedicated symposia and many networking opportunities, this year’s congress offers many compelling reasons to attend.

Joint Symposiums with experienced Experts

A central highlight will be the joint symposium organized by CEDA and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). The aim of the symposium is to strengthen the CEDA’s links with European diabetes research and to further expand scientific exchange at an international level. Participants can expect in-depth discussions on diabetes and obesity, genetics and the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes as well as chronobiology.

Another major reason not to miss CEDA 2026 is the joint symposium of the German Center for Diabetes Research (Deutsches Zentrum für Diabetesforschung, DZD) and the German Diabetes Center (Deutsches Diabetes-Zentrum, DDZ). With experienced experts of the DZD as speakers or chairs, the symposium will highlight how recent innovations in diabetes research are translating into more precise therapies for people with diabetes.

Key Topics for Researchers and Clinicians

The scientific program focuses on topics of high clinical significance, including cardio-diabetes, precision diabetology, diabetes-related comorbidities as well as prevention through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes. In addition, new therapeutic approaches, innovations in diabetes technology and current developments in obesity and diabetes-related complications will be comprehensively examined – topics that are of interest to both practicing physicians and researchers. The program will be supplemented by selected satellite symposia from renowned pharmaceutical companies.

Spotlight on Young Investigators

CEDA 2026 also places a strong emphasis on the next generation. With two Young Investigator Sessions, the congress is specifically aimed at young scientists: researchers of the next generation will have the opportunity to present their work to a large specialist audience and exchange ideas with experienced experts. Those who submit abstracts will present their research topic as a poster and discuss it with other researchers. Beyond the lecture halls, the Networking Dinner at Düsseldorf Media Harbor will offer a welcoming setting for informal exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and the strengthening of ties within the European diabetes community.
